LANDSCAPE DESIGNER
Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Landscape Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of landscape architecture principles and have the ability to design aesthetically pleasing and functional outdoor spaces. This role involves collaborating with clients to understand their vision, creating detailed designs, and ensuring that projects are executed according to specifications.
Duties
Collaborate with clients to determine their landscaping needs and preferences.
Develop innovative landscape designs using CAD software and Adobe Creative Suite.
Draft detailed plans that include plant selection, irrigation systems, and hardscape features.
Conduct land surveying to assess site conditions and constraints.
Prepare presentations for clients that effectively communicate design concepts.
Coordinate with contractors and other professionals during the construction phase to ensure adherence to design specifications.
Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and techniques to enhance design quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
Proficiency in CAD software, Adobe Creative Suite, and Sketchup.
Hand drawing skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
A passion for creating thoughtful and horticulturally nuanced landscapes.

HORTICULTURIST, Belmont, MA
Job Summary
Landscape Collaborative has been installing and maintaining some of the finest residential landscapes in the Greater Boston area for 35+ years. With a team of 60+ employees, we are growing quickly and are looking to further nurture a team of dedicated horticulturalists. See a snapshot of our 400+ sites we manage here. We are currently looking for multiple candidates who have a passion for horticulture, design, and conservation. We are hiring at three different levels of skills: Assistant Horticulturist, Horticulturist, and Lead Horticulturist. See below for more details on each. We are looking for a positive, hard-working, and team oriented individual, who is dedicated to expanding their career in horticulture. A successful horticulturist is interested in all aspects of horticulture from plant care to container design to perennial garden installation and property management. High attention to detail both on-site and with clients and a refined aesthetic are necessary.

ASSISTANT HORTICULTURIST
Qualifications:
Some previous work experience (preferred in horticultural-related field).
Undergrad Degree (or equivalent additional work experience).
Attention to detail and high degree of responsibility.
Team player and good work ethic.
Strong references.
English Intermediate.
Responsibilities:
Site Maintenance (35-45%): (prune, deadhead, cutback, plant, weed, mulch, irrigate, stake, cage).
Seasonal Containers (25-35%): (arrange, plant, and maintain).
Space Organization (5-10%): (workplace organization/cleaning and daily tool/supplies readiness).
Driving (10-15%): (driving mid-size pick-ups to and from site).
Timeliness: (Available to work 8-9 hours per day, arrive on time and stick to schedule throughout the day).
Work Ethic: (Committed to quality work, team player, and striving for self improvement).
Typical Starting Rate: $23-25/hr
HORTICULTURIST
Qualifications (Previous plus...):
Significant previous work experience (with some in horticulture specifically).
Undergraduate degree in related field (or equivalent additional work experience).
Proven success in previous leadership roles and customer-facing roles.
English proficiency.
Spanish Intermediate.
Responsibilities (Previous plus...):
Site Maintenance (35-45%): (report plant health issues, executive decisions about plant care).
Seasonal Containers (25%-35%): (container design, daily material prep, crew lead).
Driving (10-15%): (large pick ups and on occasion small dumps).
Client Communications (5%: (on-site point person and some communication via phone/email).
Data Tracking (5%): (input information on Aspire and Teams).
Crew Lead: (1-2 people on 2-10 sites that you take lead on, manage daily schedule, best practice instruction).
Other Responsibilities: (material purchase, yard organization).
Typical Starting Rate: $26-29/hr
LEAD HORTICULTURIST
Qualifications (Previous plus...):
4+ years horticulture work experience (fine perennial/botanical gardening)
Undergrad Degree in Closely Related Field (or equivalent additional work experience)
MCH or Masters in Related Field
Management Experience
English Fluency
Spanish Proficiency
Responsibilities (Previous plus...)
Site Maintenance (25%-35%): (plant enhancements, plant sourcing/purchases, treat pest/disease, tree health).
Seasonal Containers (15-25%): (material purchase, inventory management, intensive design lead).
Driving (10%): (all vehicles).
Client Communications (10-15%): (garden design, specific client asks, and account management).
Crew Lead: (lead 1-4 people on 5-20 sites).
Other (10-15%): (irrigation, meadows, pruning, design, personnel management).
Training (10-15%): (responsible for skill development/education across the team).
Typical Starting Rate: $30-33/hr
